CHEERS!
Happy New Year, everyone! Last night, James and I celebrated our first New Year’s Eve as a married couple, together, without children. Pretty crazy, eh? Momar and Doda generously offered to babysit, so we spent the night at our favorite hotel in the Universe with two dear friends in a room nearby so we could properly enjoy good food, good company and many a bottle of champagne. We were seated in a hot tub, surrounded by mounds of snow, at the stroke of midnight. Perfection! I even lounged in a snow-covered pool chair – painful and yet invigorating.
Today will be spent taking down Christmas and packing it away until next year and napping with our babies. I can’t spend a night imbibing and bounce back the way I used to. 2013 has a lot in store (the big 3-0 for both me and James, five years of marriage, and 10 years together), so I best get some rest in preparation.
