This weekend, Auntie Kimmy told us the story of this positively genius conversation she’d had with Sunny when she babysat for her while James, Kaki and I were in New Orleans back in January.

Sunny, upon finishing an entire bowl of steamed broccoli: I would like some more broccoli, please.
Kimmy: Well, we don’t have any more broccoli. Let’s see what we do have…. We have a green pepper. Would you like some slices of green pepper?
Sunny: I would like a red pepper, please.
Kimmy: But we only have a green pepper.
Sunny: A red pepper would be better.
Kimmy: Unfortunately, a red pepper isn’t an option. We have a red tomato. Do you want a red tomato?
Sunny: Yes, I would like a juicy tomato.
Kimmy: I’ll cut it open and you can tell me if it’s juicy enough for your liking, okay?
Sunny: Okay.

Why this wasn’t on my radar sooner, I DO NOT KNOW.

I’ll be recapping what was truly a glorious weekend of birthday celebrations, visiting with friends, and setting up the house later today. For now, bask in the love of Auntie and Niece.
