I know that you all know that. But Courtland’s birth announcement just came home from the frame shop, so I can finally share the adorableness of this card.

In the name of sibling egalitarianism, I felt I had to send out announcements for Miss Kaki, as I had done so with her sister. Addison’s announcement was “peanut” themed because we had called her Our Little Peanut throughout the pregnancy. I had the announcement framed, and it still hangs next to her bed.

For Kaki, I wanted to go with a whale-theme, and use the colors that have been recurring in her various baby blankets – purple and blue. When I landed on Paper Culture’s card, and saw the added design elements of quilting and cross-stitching, I knew that it was perfect. Whales and a nod to the crafty Mama from whom she came? Excellent!

While my embroidery skills are lacking, I really love the embroidered whale framed with the announcement. Now it hangs by her bedside. And my second-born gets a special something like her big sister.
