It’s Official

Our friends are not only brilliant and talented, they are also hilarious.

Thanks to this post, this “little bundle of health” arrived in the mail today…

This came from the woman who introduced me and James back in 2003. She and James are BFFifles and share the same warped, quirky sense of humor. I should have known the moment that the weenie maker was unveiled that it was the work of a one Courtney Adkinson. Only she and James would unite in this odd, ridiculous love of “Nostalgia Electrics.”

True story: My first “date” with James was an afternoon spent watching Super Troopers with James and Courtney, their all time favorite movie. A “film” (a term I use loosely) that I had yet to experience but have now suffered through watched on many, many occasions. The two of them spent the entire movie quoting every line verbatim. I sat awkwardly on the bed wondering what the hell I was getting myself into.

Turns out, it was a lifetime of pure hilarity.

Propaganda for a third child.

And it’s working.

Damn it.

Then you look down at her … your third … and you think: what’s so different about you? But before you’ve even finished asking the question, you know the answer. And your heart says to hers: Oh. You’re not different than the other two … I’m different. I am learning how to love without so much fear. How to relax a bit, in this beautiful world. How to let go and trust. You are helping me breathe easier, you three. One at a time, and together.

UPDATED: To be clear, I am not, and have absolutely NO interest in being pregnant now or anytime in the foreseeable future. This piece just planted the seed of possibility. That’s all. Promise! Remember this?

My Blueberry Babies

It’s tough to compete with James’ killer Instagram (@billsvilledad) pix of our girls when he’s got superior equipment. But I can totally steal his content and post it here.

That’s one of the rules of marriage. Providing material for your spouse’s blog. Didn’t you know?
