If you’re as obsessed with the new T. Swift album as us Carts, then you’ll understand why this video is so awesome. And even if you aren’t listening to the songs ad nauseam, you’ll still think it’s pretty dang cool. That’s assuming you have a soft spot for pop music, but I’d wager we all secretly do, deep down inside, the part of your soul that can’t help but bop along to the shake shake shake of a repetitive, albeit catchy beat.

Happy Weekend, y’all!

A powerful start to my day. And thanks to teenagers no less. I hope my daughters’ find their voice at such a young age. (Thanks to Auntie Kimmy for the hat tip!)

“The Uncle Ben”

James’ baby brother (the youngest of four boys) is pure magic. Love this kid. He’s got his own style and does his own thing and is the best party trick in the world with those flips and twirls. You should see the way preschool jaws hit the floor when Uncle Ben starts tricking.

He made this video in hopes of winning tickets to this music festival and could use a little love to help him seal the deal. Give him some props, eh? And if nothing else, enjoy the dance moves.

Sunny and Kaki are currently trying to master the “Uncle Ben” which involves gangly limbs and swirling hips (which, admittedly, they do not (yet) have). Big aspirations – and if they wind up half as fun, with half the ups of this guy, life will be pretty grand indeed.

Civil Forfeiture

This weekend, one of our friends was tied up with some unexpected work demands, which resulted in the following piece on the John Oliver show. Civil Forfeiture?! WTF?!

“Thank you Moms for the most trying year of your life.”

And then I cried my face off.

Why I’m a Feminist

This video captures rather quickly some of the many many reasons I call myself a Feminist. Thanks to the reader who sent it my way!

Just a friendly, anti-Facebook PSA. Granted, I still post to a Facebook page for this blog, so there’s this hypocritical assumption that while I don’t engage on a personal Facebook page, I hope that others will do so in order to engage with my blog page. But at least I know that those that visit the blog or the blog’s Facebook page are choosing to visit or opting in to seeing my posts. I would hope that if doing either of those things made you feel miserable, you’d choose not to, for all of our sakes. But it’s hard to feel sad with pig and puppy videos in the mix.

But truly, do things that make you feel warm and fuzzy inside rather than icky and judgmental (which is ultimately how FB made me feel the majority of the time). It’s so much nicer to be filled with the ooey, gooey happy stuff!

Pig + Dog = LOVE

While I was in Sweden, Gladdy and Penny became BFFs. And we all died from cute overload. I’m posting from the afterlife.

Welp, now I’ve had my morning cry. As if I didn’t already love and respect Colbie Caillat… thank you, you talented, beautiful woman, you.
