La Lune

by Ashley Weeks Cart

I am loving this series by Laurent Laveder. Kimmy used to point to the moon as a baby and proclaim, “Moon! Moon! I hold it! I touch it! I ‘twis’ (kiss) it!”

There’s just something about that glowing orb that captures kids’ attentions. It’s no wonder that Goodnight Moon is a favorite children’s book.

In this household, we adore I Took the Moon for a Walk. It was one of the first books gifted to Addison as a baby and, better yet, it came from her Fairy Godmother from an indie bookstore in Cambridge. It is beautifully illustrated. And definitely my favorite of the girls’ collection.  My madd memorization skillz are a testament to that.

I took the moon for a walk last night, it followed behind like a still summer kite, though there wasn’t a string or a tail in sight, when I took the Moon for a walk.
