The glow.

Kate has managed to capture that thing they refer to as pregnancy glow. Who knew I had it in me.

This afternoon, I had an incredibly empowering and positive meeting with the woman that is going to be my doula during The Sesame Seed’s birth.

I had delayed hiring a doula because of all the craziness of work and travel over the past 3 months. At one point, I even considered bagging the whole thing. I can’t believe that I am admitting that since my number one piece of advice to all pregnant women is to hire a doula, but I’ve just been so overwhelmed and it all felt so last minute that I thought, “Eh, why do I need one? I’ve done this before.”

Although, as I’ve had more and more Braxton Hicks, I’ve felt the fear and dread building inside me about going through that level of pain once again. One conversation with this woman had me remembering the power and beauty of the birth experience and admittedly got me looking forward to taking on the challenge in just a few weeks. It’ll once again be the hardest, most painful thing I’ll ever do. But also the most awesome.

Kate and Linda, thanks for reminding me why this whole maternity thing is actually pretty magical.

You’re so delicious…

My summer anthem.

Give it a listen and I dare you not to bop along.

Yeah, bop. I am officially my mother.
